People say Les can't coach lsu's talent. How did he coach lsu's talent those first three years? when we went 11-2 three years in a row and won a national championship?

Don't say it was Saban's players because most of those players played maybe one year with Saban, maybe two. and the rest of their careers where with Miles. So how did the improve form their freshmen years? shouldn't they have just stayed stagnant at however good they were when Saban left, or even gotten worse?

LSU is having an of year but everyone has those. We jsut happen to play in the SEC.

First, everyone in the SEC (our rivals) said wait until Saban's recruits graduate and then see. That's happened now.

Secondly, we are 5-1 right now. It's now a "down season" yet.

Third, we were 5-1 at this point last season and finished 7-5 regular season and 3-5 in the SEC (worst since 1999). That was the down year. If we repeat that...

where not gonna repeat it. Arky Auburn and Ole miss aren't all gonna beat us.

We have as good a defense as anyone in the sec. And the only team that has a defense comparable to florida is bama ( and i don' think we will beat them) but auburn arky and ole miss aren't gonna hold us to three, but our defense might be able to do that to them.

Last year was a down season. Therefore by definition, this season has to be a rebuilding season. 9-3 is marked improvement and 10-2 is simply outstanding and a testament to how great of a coach Miles truly is.

FWIW, I have us going 10-2

I heard this last season. And 2 of those 3 did beat us. And we should have lost to Troy.

I hope you're right though.

I doubt anyone could have predicted how completely demoralized this team was after losing against Alabama the way they did. I can't say I blame them for hanging up their cleats for the rest of the season after that one.

Boom
Only if we repeat that seat has to get warm.

1) Ole miss was better last season than they are this season
2) we should have beaten Arky i think that was a terrible unsportsmanlike conduct call on jackson and that cost us the game
3) The way i see auburn is there defense isn't good enough to keep us from scoring more than our defense will allow their offense.

Seriously? That's your argument?

There has been an amazing downward trend regarding the preparation and performance on the field from LSU for the last 19 games.

Miles & company get paid well to prevent the team from "hanging up their cleats". LSU provided the worst defending NC team in the BCS era last season. This season LSU is 12th of 12 SEC teams in offense - and it's not close.

I'm a realist, we're 5-1. We have the opportunity. But I also am realistic in regards to hoping something is going to happen compared to thinking something is going to happen.

I see LSU finishing 7-5 again. And believe it or not, I don't want that to happen. I attended LSU from 1989 to 1994 and I know what it's like to see a program in decline. Me and 39,999 other fans in the stands (half empty).

You caught me off guard. I wasn't aware that I was arguing with you.

This however, is questionable and at the least nullifies your self-image as a realist. No realist would think that we would go winless through the SEC for the rest of this season.

You do realize we went 7-5 and 3-8 in the SEC last season?

I think my 7-5 is much more realistic from what we've seen from LSU than your 10-2.

And an argument is a point of contention. Your point was that you can't blame the team for imploding last year. It's expected I guess in your eyes. I mean since we lost to Bama in a close one.

This is possible, but there defense looks pretty stout right now.

We didn't beat Arkansas under Nutt, in a NC year. What makes you think thats a gimme game?

They have a good Oline and good backs... I think our bend-but-don't-break will be truly tested

None of these are gimme wins... especially the way this team is playing... sloppy

I don't think it's at all realistic to think that we won't win another SEC game. We pulled wins out of our asses against Mississippi State and Georgia. The team has the will to win. If nothing else, that will see us through. That will bring wins against Auburn, Arkansas, and Ole Miss.

As far as last year goes, I am convinced of the importance of psychology in football. And last year, that Alabama game defeated us. Seeing that game so close, but out of our grasp disrupted the entire culture of the team and it was obvious that we no longer believed that we could win.

That's the difference between 7-5 and 10-2. That's the difference between this year and last year. This year we have desire.

Ole mIss has looked pretty bad too. they gave up 6 to SOUTHEASTERN how many do you think they could hold us to? Also they got held to 3 point too last weekend. Arkansas is al flase but they like to throw the ball and we have a bad arse back 7 so i am liking that matchup.

Did you miss Florida and Georgia laying fifty plus on LSU?

You're delusional. I hope you end up being correct. I prefer 10-2.

Of course I didn't. But Florida was incredible last year and our first loss of the season. The score looks bad with Georgia, but until the last few minutes, we still had a chance at winning it.

Alabama was an extreme emotional high coupled with an extreme emotional low. I'd say that, more than anything else, was responsible for those last three games.
