quote:that's crazy. they were just standing there and then started jumping on their way out. even if they were jumping in one place, they were barely touching the eye. why were they jumping? it's called excitement... or anticipation. they do that every game, even at florida field. are they showing disrespect to their own team when they do that in the swamp?
Watch the video, and when the camera zooms in, look how many Gators are between the 45 and 50, well within the "Eye". I don't care how long they've been doing it, it's classless. LSU was right to defend their field. At about the 1:45 mark.
Florida jumping on the Eye of the Tiger
just keep on examining and dissecting the zapruder footage if you want.

Watching that video - there was clearly a whole bunch of Gators jumping up and down on the eye.
Now you can say they weren't "stomping" but that's getting into semantics. By them doing that it says either one of three things:
1) They were too dense to know that it would be considered disrepectful to the home team;
2) They knew and didn't care;
3) They knew and did it on purpose in some sort of macho statement.

The proof is there and you admit that about half of the team was on the eye. You do realize that every team takes this as a sign of disrespect. Don't tell me that Florida teams don't understand that (FSU-Miami pregame fights). Florida knows exactly what they are doing. You do realize that many teams kick their last pregame punt toward their endzone and huddle there. If you don't want to be called thuggish, don't jump up and down "maybe on the logo, maybe not". But Urban Meyer has no problem with the "swagga".
