2. there is this ongoing debate as to why the offense has been offensive thus far. some think offensive line, others quarterback and others play calling. Its is a combination of all 3. while the offensive line has graded out well below average you cannot consistantly block 7, 8, and 9 man fronts. Defenses know that LSU cant or wont strech the field vertically so there is no penalty for stacking the line of scrimmage. Even if they are unsuccessful at throwing deep it still must be attempted from time to time to make the defense defend it and back of the running game. Which leads to poor play calling. The offense can only run what is called so it is up to whomever may be calling the plays (at this point it looks like a 10 year old on Xbox) to be more creative and diverse rather than running the same basic plays over and over. If i can look at the formation and guess the play call I know defensive coordinators can. As far as quarterbacks I am really not an advocate of Jefferson or Lee. I think neither has excelled when given the opportunity. I do believe that Lee should at least be given another look. What plagued him was poor decision making, which usually improves from year to year with guys that start as freshman. He has all the tools and should be given another chance to see if his decision making has improved. Jefferson does not make the mistakes Lee made but also does not move the offense with any consistancy at all. Lee moved the offense but just gave back too many of the points we scored. Some quarterbacks just never "get it" and maybe thats the case with Lee but we will never know unless he is given another shot. Not to mention it may do Jefferson some good to sit out a couple of series and see from the sidelines what he is not seeing on the field and then go back an apply what he saw back to the field. At this point it certainly would not hurt.

"Thanks, Popeye, it's all I can't stand and I can't stands no more! "

First, Georgia and Florida played vanilla defenses...no 7 or 8 or 9 man fronts. You are thinking Vandy and MSU, not GA and FLA! Second, many teams in college football run the ball without a passing threat...LSU's OL is simply not that good even against low level SEC teams like Vandy and MSU or ULL in the Sunbelt for that matter. Lee had his chance and showed nothing last year other than he is not division 1-A caliber. He simply isn't. He gained no ground in practices and most reports had Garrett ahead of Lee but Garrett was being RS. I will remind you that Lee couldn't even beat out Hatch last year...he took over as the starter due to an injury. As far as "not hurting" trying Lee, you must be joking right? Did you not see the Georgia game last year...the Alabama game last year...both lost on Lee INTs for TDs.

The problems in order of significance:
1) OL/OL coach
2) Crowton playcalling
3) Jefferson's inexperience

Our o-line needs work, but these running teams you refer to run a variety of plays from several formations....LSU does not.
