pierce the UF defense, the same 11 from last year. It is a safe bet that the O is better than last year, but relative to the UF D, how much if any.

To score or not to score. That is the question facing LSU's erratic, yet very talented, OFFENSE. At this time, I must give the advantage to UF given their track record from last year to now v. the LSU offense's history at this point. IF LSU can execute with relatively few mistakes, I think they have a good chance to win this game.

This O is not better than last years, it's just much more consistent.

I think we can score on one long drive and one short drive with maybe one field goal from good starting field position, but this game is all about our D vs. their O.

this game is gonna be about how we can sustain drives and wear their defense down, while keeping our defense fresh, with this and preventing mistakes we can easily win this game. we are gonna have to control the clock in this game and keep their d on the field long enough to make them eventually make mistakes. will be an epic game though

Since the OL hasn't been blocking all that great. Jefferson will have to hurry and throw the screen pass and let us get to the EZ on first downs.

that would be great. If we could move the ball as we have at times during the year, but is the LSU O much better relative to last year's UF D?

Dont forget LSU made it 21-14 in the 3rd quarter last year with JLee and shitty Defensive coaching.

Well, if you factor the utter lack of pick 6s as part of the O, it is measurably better without question. An Offense that gives up points is worse than one that doesn't score, no?

yes we were a third down stop away from turning the momentum directly in our favor but they converted and i believe we didnt stop them a single drive the rest of the game..

this is correct but at the same time our offense had no trouble scoring points last year while our offense seems to sputter often this year and inside the redzone we cant punch it in for shite but needless to say. I believe

Seeing as Tennessee was able to score 13 on then with their clusterfrick of an offense, I think we'll move the ball on them. Much of the reason UF's defense is ranked so high right now (they are still one of the best in the country) is that they've played shite for competition.

At 4-0, they've beaten:
Charleston Southern (FCS)
Troy (scored 14 against Bowling Green and averaging 25.5 points against other Sun Belt and MAC teams)
Tennessee - horrible offense, need i say more?
Kentucky - Again mediocre offense.

Now I am not saying that LSU is leaps and bounds better than these teams that have played UF, but talent-wise, none of these teams have half the talent on Offense that we do, so don't be surprised if we play well against UF's defense.

Who has LSU beaten?

UGA? About the same at UT with a weaker defense but slightly better QG. Statistically they (Cox and Crompton) are about the same.

Vandy? Basically a UK clone.

MSU? Interesting... LSU D will face basically the same offense on steroids this weekend.

ULL? About the same as Troy?

Washington? Beat USC but lost to Stanford. Doesn't sound like a solid team to me.

This Gator defense is made up of the same players that held OU (most productive offense in NCAA history) to 14 points.

just sayin'

All true, but I have seen teams have success against this group running the ball right at them. They aren't necessarily the biggest defense. The recipe for defeating UF is to keep their offense off the field and execute sustained drives that drain the clock in your favor.

...and scoring on said drives. It's a lot easier to say than do. We'll find out Saturday if the Tigers can. LSU will have to bring a better running game than that 30 yard performance against MSU to beat the Gators.

True that. I think it is more of our O agin their D. Must sustain some drives.
