Maybe in years to come people will talk about the baby that killed The Office.
The office hasn't been funny since Jim became responsible. It won't be the baby that killed The Office. As you said, they are already killing the Office by having Jim grow up.
They need to promote Michael to corporate and let Jim run the office for about 3 or 4 shows. Then, push both of them back down to their former positions and get the show back to the "old format."
At that point, Jim won't have to try to impress because he's already "failed" at being a boss. They also need to ditch the receptionist and move Pam back to that role.
The Office began ruining itself when it began creating long lasting story lines instead of going with the generic story lines that could change from week to week with no rhyme or reason.
Community has already replaced The Office as the funniest show on NBC.

Wow, I couldn't disagree with this thread more.
First of all, if you use the phrase "jumpe the shark," then you should shoot yourself (that's not necessarily to this thread, just in general).
Pointing to babies killing tv shows is simply laughable. What kills shows is that they just aren't popular forever. People on the shows hooking up, getting married, or having babies is not what kills shows and creates less interest...time is. Characters getting together or having kids is just a natural progression of life, so of course it's eventually gonna make its way into storylines on most shows. It just so happens that it usually happens when the show is on the decline.
Almost every "most popular ever" show has had its decline. It's just because people's tastes change, and the show/characters eventually get old/stale.
Tonight's Office was one of the best in a long time. That shows right there that it can still be solid despite JIm and Pam getting married or being pregnant.
This thread is hilarious.
