What is the loudest most sustainable vocal sound with the least damage to the vocal cords? I want to last all four qtrs. I am ok if I can only nod and smile after whipping that Fla arse though.

Please factor in frequent moistining of throat with 80 proof and coke.

is it a sustained OOOOOOO or AAAAAAA or what?

It doesn't matter what noise you're making, as long as you breathe from your stomach. Support your voice with your with your stomach, bot with your vocal chords. You'll know if you're doing this right if your stomach starts to feel like you've been doing crunches by halftime... Then again, it's Florida, eff the vocal crap- I'm going to make noise, damn it!

plan to clap and stomp but thinking about bringing smal thin blocks of wood or altoid cans or similar to clap with (small inconspicous but increases volume and allows me clap without bruising hands by 4th qtr.) There will be lots to clap about my friends.

Hands are better used directing the sound rather than clapping.

Screw it, SEC allows miss st. to bring in artificial noisemakers so bring in a couple air horns with you.

Its the result of rearranging a sentence that started with Voice and inadvertantly capitalizing majors. However.... touche

airhorns could cost us a penalty especially if urban cryer and timmy complain of a Headache from all the noise. bringn airhorns to the Alabama game in mass though. Home team gets the penalty.

I alternate between a sustained "OOOOOOHHHHHH" and "AHHHHHHHHH" depending on the urgency of the situation.

You may or may not be right.

I tried to test your theory with my db meter. Its not so easy to maintain a constant volume, with and without your hands near your mouth, while watching the meter... but the meter did move up slightly when I put my hands near my mouth.... about 1-2 db's I'd say.

My "loudest" sustained yell (or very nasty singing) seems to be at 100 db. So cupping my hands to my mouth would be about 102 dbs.

My "loudest" clap, measured at 3 feet, was about 92 db.

In my non-physics minded self...

One person making
100 db voice only, plus 92 db clapping sound pressure output seems higher than...

100 voice, plus 2 db handcup

The distances we're talking surely change the equation... but I'm still thinking that the clapping is louder, unless maybe you're in the upper deck.

If I'm wrong... correct me. I just want it LOUD!!

As they huddle/come to line, I do a "heyyyyooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" until the completion of the play.

repeat as necessary.

I am still a little hoarse from UGA, but I will lose it again Saturday. Alcohol dont help.
