benefits JJ at all. He is NOT an option QB and is more comforable drop-back passing.

On balance I agree, but he's also not suited to 7-step drops. He tends to run away from the LOS, and then by the time he sets up, he has to make all his reads quickly. The OL has not protected well, and coupled with his lack of awareness it makes it very difficult to be a consistent drop-back passer.

he's a good spread passer i think...not so good with the under center drop backs...doesn't see the field as well.

That option play is horrible with JJ.

Yes it could especially when Shepard starts throwing on the option.

It didn't look like the option game hurt his game, he just didn't have enough confidence throwing it in tight coverage today. (Which is interesting since he made some nice throws in tight coverage..)

The option with JJ didn't do much yardage wise, but made a big difference in wearing out Georgia and allowing us long drives in the first half.

JJ throws well rolling out. This suits him better. He is not an option QB, and hasn't grown into a pocket passer yet. The Staff needs to play to his strengths.
