First and foremost we have to establish a running game! I expect at least 150 yards rushing from LSU on Saturday. Establishing the run will open up our deep passing threat, and can help add variety on first down calls. I really want to see if Crowton's approach is more aggressive against an upper tier SEC defense.

Our defensive line has to have the game of their lives. Chancey is out, but Pep played some snaps last week and should be good to go. They need to put pressure on Cox and get him uncomfortable. It's pretty simple, if you shut down the Dawgs air attack they are very beatable. With the talent LSU has in the secondary, there is no way they should have trouble covering the UGA receivers with pressure on Cox from the D-Line.

I look forward to great game and I feel like our Tigers will come to play and show the nation they are worthy of the ranking!

you got that backwards...because they are going to start off stacking the box...and the only way to establish the run game will be first to establish the passing game

key to the offense is pass protection in order for us to exploit their undersized secondary..that is how you will establish the run

3 keys based on what Ive seen of LSU the past 4 games.

1. JJ's play. Does he continue to JUST progress or does he outright dominates or just flat out implode?

2. O-line.....the engine of the offense. They dominate we win. They play inconsistent, toss up. They play like they did the last 4 games, we lose.

3. 3rd down defense. This has been irking the heck out of me since game 1. We have too many 3rd down conversions on defense, particularly conversions that are made by running the football. We got to stop that.

Since LSU has proven they cannot establish the run, I guess you assume we will lose.

Why? Because establishing a dominant run game wears down a defense over 4 quarters. If LSU can't run the ball they don't stand a chance

Georgia can't run the ball either. by that logic, neither team can win.

You understand that people have been putting 8 in the box when we only have 7 to block the eight, thus we cant run. If you pass well they drop more into coverage then you can work the running game. In LSU's case it is very important to show the pass well in order to lossen the defense.

Good point. Our offensive line has to step it up. Everytime JJ has had a chance to step up in the pocket, he's thrown some pretty good passes down the field. That will be a huge factor for the running game

I understand that. My question is, why do you all of the sudden believe we will be able to extablish the run, since we haven't done a really good job up to this point?

I'm saying that without a running game we can't win. I didn't necessarily say I believe they will, I just expect them to because that is LSU football

No. I'll be in Athens, at the game, expecting them to win. I have a feeling we play well this weekend, but then again, that feeling is based on nothing.

That's why I was curious about the original poster's feeling we are going to rush for 150. What is that based on? Maybe nothing as well, which is fine.

100% agree. But we'll have to pass first to be able to run. I don't think we can just establish the run. We have to create the run.

Call this a leap of faith on my part, but maybe after 4 games of film, Miles and Crowton see what the mistakes are and have been working all week to correct them.

I do believe that until LSU establishes that they can go downfield, not necessarily "deep" down field but 15-20yd range consistently, that Georgia will just sit in the box waiting for the run game.

If Crowton had a brain he would give JJ the option to audible to a play action pass in a run-formation when he sees the safties creeping up to the line.

Valid point. I agreed with a previous poster that if our offensive line can give JJ some time to throw, it will go a long way in determining if we can run the ball.

I'm no coach.

But I say, 4 wide and let it fly. Then try to pop off the runs.

I hate how they try to run scott up the middle out of the shotgun. Not having a true FB is really hurting this offense.

our play action is the most dangerous play we have

i promise you that either Lafell or Toliver are WIDE open every single time

if JJ has time to throw, and if JJ actually looks for the receivers, we can gut UGA fairly easily...shite even if he throws it to the covered receiver we have a half a foot height advantage on their corners, the only thing he cant do is underthrow it
