It is easy to put down someone else for the job they are doing.

But if you are going to put down someone you have to have ideas of what will be a better way of doing things.

so I pose this question to everyone:

"What do you need to see on the field Saturday that will change your mind on the team?"

what say you...

I feel we have a great team and there are some kinks to work out...i would like to see us balanced on offense and continue to be a scary defense and I will continue to be positive about this team, the coaching staff and the season.

it would take alot for me to just turn my back to be honest...but I feel alot of the fan base (especially on this site) have.

so what will change your mind to the positive or vise versa?

if the fan base turned their back, they wouldn't be on this board. "These" people you speak of may be immature, but haven't turned.

Against Georgia, just win.... I do not care if it is by 3.

I think this team is the about as good as the 98 or 99 teams. A win would be a plus, but if we stay within a score of Georgia, I think it would be a moral victory.

My mind is not made up, but a win is not required (preferred, but not required).

What I'm looking at in this game:

1) D-line getting some pressure on Cox
2) Minimal amounts of breakdown in coverage
3) A good mix of effective offense

UGA is a talented team with some similar types of problems. If the Dawgs fire on all cylinders, they can beat us even when doing the above.

So, there are two benchmarks: ourselves and victory

I believe a win is a win, and winning is the most important thing. But when you're dead last in the SEC on offense and 9th on defense...and you really havent played a very tough schedule, you have to at least have some trepidation.

If we at least had an ALMOST all around good game against a COUPLE of those "mediocre" teams, it would be much easier to feel confident.

If they were truly holding back and simply "knew" they could win those games without showing much, then the coaching staff is the smartest, most genius coaching staff in the history of college football, and ill bow down and kiss their "insert what you want here".

But clearly this team has alot to prove..and well...IMprove.

I still trust Les Miles in big games...and this is a BIG ONE...you CANT LOSE THIS GAME BEFORE THE UF GAME...you just cant.

So im actually kinda confident.

At this point, I'll consider any kind of a win a victory. As long as we have scored more points than them by the end of the game, I'll feel like we won.

a stronger o-line, better running from scott and williams. although I think the latter is a problem because of the former. I'm not chicken little - I think lsu is good, I'm just realistic thinking that 8 or 9 wins is more attainable for this group of players than 12 wins and a NC.

Ok, you asked.
1. LSU's OL doing the job.
2. LSU's offense actually sustaining drives and scoring touchdowns, not FGs from the red zone.
3. LSU's DL looking like they know how to sack the QB and want to (and then sacking the QB).
4. LSU playing with 60 minutes of intensity and coming out of Athens with a win.

A team that wraps up ballcarriers and brings them to the ground the first time contact is made, an OC that calls plays that actually gives the offense a decent chance of success, an OL and RB's that don't continue to miss blocking assignments on running plays, and miss critical blocks in pass protection, roll JJ out of the pocket more in play action, overall discipline, especially on special teams, a coaching staff that gets the damn play in before getting a costly, drive killing, and stupid delay of game penalty, a DC that calls more blitzes to put pressure on a very average and unmobile Joe Cox, and an overall agressive, and downright mean team that wants to rip someone's eyes out and skullfrick them through the facemask.

If all of those things happen, my opinion would change, I'd be extremely happy. Hell, I'd be damn happy if just the last thing happened.
