It may not be a new argument, but it still is unanswered if I recall correctly.

From the logic on this board, here's how you know. When we suck, it's Miles; when we are dominant and explosive on offense, it's Crowton.

So when we call Scott up the middle and he gets 20 yards, it's Crowton. Same play and he get's stuffed at the line, Miles called it.

Miles called the fake FG in '07 vs. SC.

Miles called the KW halfback pass for a TD.

Miles has admitted in the past he "suggests" plays i.e. calls plays on occasion.

So your "never" is a big fat lie!

Picture this:
Crowton calls a play, Miles suggests another play. What play do you think will be called?

You're asking me?

The head coach will always have his play ran.

If you listened to the Les Miles Show last night he said himself that JJ should of thrown for 350 yrds but he was to stubborn to get the run going. Sounds like Miles is not actually calling the plays but is saying run or pass

No it was just a question in general for those who have a problem with whose decision would be finalon play calling.

The only ones who know the real answer are Miles and Crowton. Everything else is conjecture and makes for threads on the rant.

Nobody knows this for a fact. Unless you are on the sidelines with them listening to their converstaions. I do believe, however, that Miles has said that he likes to give his coordinators freedom. So, in my opinion, I think Crowton calls a good majority of the plays.

well it's likely not playcalls, but it's philosophy

crowton is a 5-wide spread guy and a single back OC. he did dabble in some spread option at UO (he's still learning how to run it)

les is an i-form, big form, up the gut old school big10 guy.

you tell me which offense has been used more since 2007

Hey Slow, how would you describe Miles' offenses at OSU?

And as for his Big 10 "up the gut" background, that's another misleading description you like to throw around. When Miles was at Michigan, they had one of the most wide open offenses in the country at the time. Desmond Howard ring a bell? They weren't exactly 3 yards and a cloud of dust like you like to portray. Miles stresses balance, not "up the gut old school Big 10." Get over it. You've been perpetuating that lie for far too long.

And as for the formations that you're so fixated on, do you watch the Saints? The Saints run the i and 2 TE more than most teams in the NFL FOR PROTECTION reasons, and yet Payton still finds ways to attack downfield out of those formations. Even if Miles is stressing max protect formations, "The Wizard" should still be able to get Dickson, KW, LaFell, TT, Shep etc involved and not be as predictable and ineffective on offense as he has been.
