Baton Rouge had the largest increase of construction jobs of any city in the 337 largest communities surveyed. BR added 1,200 new construction jobs in the 12 month period ending 8/31/09. In percentage terms, BR tied Tulsa and Longview, Washington for third at 3% growth in jobs, with those two cities adding 700 and 100 jobs respectively.
Columbus, IN and Anderson, IN both had higher percentage growth, 14.6% & 6%, but in number of jobs created, they were lower, coming in at 300 and 100 jobs respectively.
So, it looks like Baton Rouge is doing OK.
