we have no apparent fullback.Quinn Johnson was an excellent blocking fullback. The coaching staff has no faith in Dugas since he has played sparingly since game 1, they'd rather take away our leading rusher (Scott) and make him a fullback. It's definitely an underappreciated position until you can't run the football.

We can't run the ball because we don't pass enough down field.

Our YPC hasn't been terrible outside of MSU. We have WAY more success running to the outside.

Well, you don't need a FB to lead if the line can make the holes, but a good one does open it up more - good line or not.

Or vice versa....we can't throw downfield because opponents can stop our run with 6 in the box.

Yards are yards, but we're getting the yards from the option and QB keepers more than traditional "between the tackles" plays.

Try 7 or 8!

That's an awesome pic of Quinn Johnson opening a huge hole for Scott...

It's so appreciated, that Bama and the New England Patriots don't even have one on their roster.

Who gives a shite. Most overused excuse in LSU nation. It doesn't seem to bother those other teams.

I feel like we dont get the yards we want because we are so damn predictable. we have no outside game for some reason (which I feel like was our number 1 strength so far) which makes it very easy for the defense to load up the box. If its not coming up the middle, its most likely an option to the short side..which is so STUPID if our WR's arent going to block. I feel like a well coached high school defense could stop us right now when it comes to the running game.

The problems are, we never pull our linemen. Bama, Miss St, and Auburn pull linemen on almost every play; we don't for some strange reason.

We try to run too much from shutgun. Why are we acting like we're Florida, and doing the dive up the middle with Scott, like they do with Demps? Stupid Crowton.

We need to have JJ behind center more, so Scott can line up 8 yards behind him and come at the line with more steam. You don't need a FB to do that, look at the NE Patriots running over the Falcons on Sunday without one on the roster.

It really isn't that complex.

I think its a combination of things. You cant argue that all the fault lies with the fullback. The main reason we CANT run between the tackles is because the defense is taking it away.......putting 7-8 in the box and darring us to throw.

Our playcalling has been somewhat predictable on first downs and to the short side of the field.

My main concern is with the lack of physical play by the O-line (a departcher from the past). We are allowing contact to be made behind the LOS too often. It's not only that we arent opening enough holes, but we are not getting a big enough push up front.

They have no faith in Allen and he is the only true FB on the roster

this is simple

we cant runt he football because josh dworaczyk, t-bob hebert, and lyle hitt have been absolutely atrocious this season

now ciron black and joe barksdale have sucked too...but those 3 up the middle have been just awful
