we didnt let them score, we intentionally ran out of the back of the endzone for field position purposes

Letting them score a TD would have been to gain field position as well.

What are the better odds?

1. Making a goal line stance 1st and goal from the 2 to a team who just ran the ball 48 yards down your throat in 4 or 5 plays?

OR

2. Having LSU drive 40 to 45 yrds for a game winning FG with 1:20 on the clock and 2 timeouts?

I sort of agree that it gave us the best odds, but there is something in principle I can't agree with giving up the LEAD with a minute to go. So I was hoping that MSU would score on first down, but didn't want us to "let" them do it. If that makes any sense at all.

But the saftey is very, very different. You aren't giving up the lead. And in fact those 2 points were completely meaningless, especially with 1:00 left.
