Big plays and a late goal line stand gave No. 7 LSU a hard fought 30-26 victory over Mississippi State in Starkville.
LSU's defense came up big when it needed to, stopping Mississippi State at the four inch line on 4th down with less than two minutes to go in the game to preserve a 30-24 lead.
On the ensuing drive, LSU opted for a safety on the 4th down punt formation, which gave the Bulldogs one more chance. LSU was able to stop the Bulldogs on downs to earn the hard fought victory.
LSU improved to 4-0 (2-0 in the SEC), while Mississippi State fell to 2-2 (1-1 in the SEC).
Chad Jones was the player of the game, scoring on a 93-yard punt return in the 4th quarter, making 7 tackles and swatting down a sure touchdown on 3rd down during LSU's thrilling goal line stand.
QB Jordan Jefferson was 15 of 28 for 233 yards and two touchdown passes to Brandon Lafell.

who the heck can call that a THRILLER? Chad Jones looked great but we were out coached. We were lucky to pull that off.

Do you even know what a thriller is? This was the definition of a thriller.

I guess Dean McGruff wasn't on the edge of his seat at the end of the game. Was he in the kitchen reheating some nachos?

to the idiots who don't call this a thriller, then you have no concept of the word. Va. Tech stomping Miami, Oregon destroying Cal were NOT thrillers.
