Does Chavis not believe in Stunting?

I would love to see more stunts in the d-line? I think it would help get more pressure.

I think some stunting would be fine but this can be used a bit too much at times. Whatever happened to the Reggie White swim move? Is that a lost art?

Yeah it might be.

I think we will see stunting more once we hit the more difficult/talented teams.
My guess is that Chavis thinks we are talented enough to get pressure without stunting or using gimmicks.

I was thinking about asking that same question. I was watching Florida and they get to the QB with just their 4 D-linemen, sometimes 3, by doing this. It confuses the heck out of O-lines and disrupts alot of plays in the backfield. Good question to ask. Hopefully we have it in our arsenal and will let it fly against some tougher opponents.

But he would be incorrect in thinking that. Against UF, Ole piss, Bama, and Arky we will need to get more pressure in order to win. That's the bottom line.

FWIW ULL stunted effectively against our interior line for much of the night and it resulted in a marginal ground game for the Tigers.

Exactly... only veteran offensive lines with alot of talent can effectively pick up some of the more confusing stunts and slants. Its a good tactic.

Well that might be overstating it. However, a good gaurd or tackle on each side of the ball with the ability to see the stunt coming andthe authority from the coaching staff to change the blocking assignment can greatly improve the blocking by telling those on each side what to do.
It really pisses off a D lineman when he gets in stance and his stunt/fold/slant are called out audibly by the O linemen prior to the snap.

Getting the basic packages correct is priority one. Hopefully we will be ready to add specific stunting for Georgia.

It's a habit and he doesn't want to get addicted.
