Ole Miss-LSU Magnolia Bowl to get new trophy

This whole ridiculous bowl business = GARGANTUAN FAIL.

I've never heard of the Magnolia Bowl. I hate these commercialized b/s trophy bowls.
The LSU v. Ole Miss rivalry doesn't need commercialization. But, if they were going to do anything, the LSU students should have raided The Grove, and stolen an Ole Miss logoed checkered table cloth. Then they could have made a homemade trophy of a bronzed tiger wiping his arse with the cloth.
Now that's a trophy for the teams to fight over!

Sad attempt at trying to "create" rivalries.
LSU will never have the same kind of rivalry that Ole Miss/Miss State and Auburn/Alabama enjoy.
We don't have an in-State in-conference opponent. Tulane/LSU was big in its day, but not anymore and I don't think it ever will be. We don't have an in-State non-conference rival either, like a Fla/Fla State or Clemson/USC.
Arky/LSU just won't work. Even with a big trophy attached to it.
Ole Miss/LSU has a long history, but I think our biggest rival these days is obviously Alabama. I don't think it will last though.

Actually, Ole Miss considers LSU a bigger rival than Miss. State. Alabama has us down the list from Auburn and Tennessee.

Fans or coaches? I lived in Jackson for a while (granted it was years ago), but the fans hate each other far more than I think they hated us.
Right now, yeah, we are more of a football rival for Ole Miss, because Miss State sucks and Ole Miss is hoping for a shot at the West title.
We do have quite a history with Ole Miss though.
