...and got invited by a group of Aggies to go bass fishing at their private 6-acre lake in Snook this morning.

The fishing was a blast. But, I mentioned that I would give a few thoughts from an outsider's view on the team/game etc.

The game was actually fun to watch. Not being a former student, the fans were very hospitable to me. Plenty of cold beer, great BBQ, and attractive gals walking around in their maroon dresses.

I wasn't sure what to expect with the team, but it looks like Mike Sherman has done a lot to fix what Dennis Francione messed up before he left. The offense lit up the score board, and the defense kept New Mexico out of the endzone the entire game.

Players that stood out to me were:

QB #1 (Jerod? Johnson)- The guy is an athlete. He has the same build that Vince Young had, but seemed more poised in the pocket.

RB #33 (Christine Michael) - This guy is going to be a future Heisman candidate barring injury. Hits the hole with explosion and makes guy miss nearly every carry.

WR #8 (Jeff Fuller) - Tall, fast, and has nice hands. Made the QB look good on 2 particular plays that may have been incomplete otherwise.

PK #28 (Randy Bullock) - Has a cannon for a leg. It was pointed out to me that he only missed 1 FG all season as a true freshman last year.

All in all, LSU could take them but Kyle Field seems like it would be a tough place to travel and play.

I can't believe Les Miles let Christine Michael go. I think we should have landed him. Some times I don't know what Miles is thinking
