I like JJ for a number of reasons.....
1. His ball handling (faking, execution) is excellent
2. Great instincts and decision making
3. His throwing ability
4. He's fast
5. He seems to have a great attitude
6. He's totally in to the game and appears to be a great leader at the ripe old age of 19.
Very pleased with this guy. Geaux JJ...

None of that is surprising. He's shown that before.
We need him to be a bigtime really good QB for us to win the West though. I know he's 19, but that's the way it looks. He needs to be more than just pretty good.

I think he CAN be a good college QB but I also can tell you the coaches have zero confidence in him throwing the ball right now. Did we throw the ball 10 yards downfield one time?

Exactly, the stat sheet will show a few long passes, but we had a lot of yards after the catch. We're protective of inexperience to an extreme it seems.

I agree, and hope to see more vertical passing next week at home. I believe we are better than the conservative offensive gameplan we displayed last night.

I like JJ as well and think he is smart and tough..

I really think the entire offensive game plan was centered around getting JJ's feet wet sort of speak. Crowton gradually brought along more passing and that really opened up the run.

The vertical aerial game will come down to pass protection.
As for next week - don't overlook Vandy - one at a time.

I do to. If it wasn't for LSU's defensive meltdown against Arkansas, he would still be undefeated as a college and high school starting QB. The guy knows how to win. Did not see one single play on offense last night where you could say, "man, that was horrible". I think however, many people said that many times last year.
Of course some tards are more worried about the stats than winning the game. Duh!

Love our qb and wide outs....not slobbering over the rest of the team yet.....but there is always next week.

I also like him. My biggest concern is the number of big shots he is taking. If that keeps up, he will have his eggs scrambled before mid-season.
I appreciate his passion but he may need to be a little smarter in deciding when to avoid the big hits (and I am sure that will come with experience).

Did Dickson even get a catch?
If I were a coach, I would start throwing the kitchen sink out every night...so the players can prove they can execute them during a game and make your future opponents prepare for a lot more.

He's the reason we got a W last night. That's big time enough for me.

The offensive shut down in the second half was as much a part of that loss as the last second score by UA.

Jefferson is the man and will continue to be, but like stated earlier we need to let him throw the ball down the field...and let him move the pocket more to give him the run/pass option...and hey guys the MOST glaring positive aspect of the game last night was Jarret Lee threw a pass with out a pick-6...now thats huge!!!
