Anyone know what the deal is or has anything been released yet? Thanks

i've heard that if it is a hernia and he needs surgery, recovery time would be 5-6 weeks. so streif would only have to play a few games which he is very capable of. we're fine.

I'm expecting them to say he had surgery yesterday. If is was negative/just a strain and he was going to rejoin the team they probably would have announced it already.

Isn't that the same injury Shockey struggled with all last season?

Same injury, see the detailed description at the start of the thread. It was truer that Will Smith struggled with it. He limped through without surgery. My memory is that Shockey had the surgery was out, maybe came back a little fast, then had an ankle problem after that. Correct me if wrong.
Bottomline with surgery I would expect JB back the earliest for the Jets game more likely after the bye and the Giants. The push for return would certainly be affected by the performance of the replacement. Streif is the write in choice. They possibly could make a pickup- Kwame Harris, Levi Jones if healthy, etc. Personally I think Nicks could slide over and pull a Wally Pipp. I love that guy. But for them to weaken LG as well as LT might be too much to ask.

If he is blown up by MW quick I sure hope Payton gives him some help from TE, Evans, or Nicks. OR let Drew sit out some until MW departs. I'm not used to our Breesus getting blindsided and it's pointless in a preseason gig.

I think you are dead on with Strief. Good run blocker and handles the bull rush very well. It's the speed move outside that gets him. He should be okay vs. the teams we start out againts. And get JB back for the NYG.
