Will we ever see Nick Saban embraced for his accomplishments at LSU? Will he ever get a Tiger Stadium salute? I would like to see this happen...

I went to the Bama game partly for the oppertunity to boo him when he came on the field. Folks don't tend to have very long memories. We now see him as our arch rival (for the most part) and a hired hand by the enemy. I do appreciate what he did for LSU and would probably thank him for it if I ever see him close enought to shake his hand. he doesn't however let lay people get that close so I'll just stick to booing him every chance I get.

His reception was fairly warm when he coached the Dolphins and they played the Saints in Tiger Stadium.

I am glad what he did for LSU but im not going to salute him.
Basically using this logic you have a girlfriend for a long time who you are happy with, but then shes goes outs and cheats on you, but your gonna tell her thank you for the good times.

The sooner he leaves Tuscaloosa the better chances there are of that happening. I don't know this is all hypothetically speaking. Let's say Saban leaves Bama after 2011. Goes to Penn State and coaches there for 10 years. In 2021 he retires and then in 2022 LSU has some ceremony for old players and coaches. I think then LSU fans would embrace what he's done. But nothing sooner than 2022.

i think in about 15 yrs, they will honor the champs of 03, and by then, hopefully saban will get a round of applause.

he already burned the bridge. If he would have left Miami for ND, it wouldn't have been near the same deal. Its also the way it went down.
1. Left on Christmas day
2. Said I will not be the coach at alabama
3. Returns on our Sugar Bowl game day
4. Takes credit for LSU being in the Sugar Bowl that day
5. He's at Alabama

Its still the same. He was with us. Then he left us. Then he stabbed us in the back. So he is a traitor and will be a traitor. THe only thing I think that could possibly redeem him is if Miles completely falls apart(which doesnt appear to be happening) and he leaves Bama to come back to LSU. But im not sure if I want him and his acid tongue back but that would cause a gump meltdown of biblical proportions.

No. Like Paul Dietzel, Nick Saban chose to leave LSU on top. Unlike Paul Dietzel, Nick Saban made a concious decision to come back into the SEC to coach a hated rival, knowing that to excell at his new job would mean to harm that which he helped create at his old job.
Screw him. Had he wanted to come back to college coaching and he had done so at a university outside of the SEC, he'd still have tons of supporters. Instead, he made his bed...he gets to lie in it.
