Interesting movie.....but meh. It is no Pulp Fiction/Kill Bill/From Dusk till Dawn.

Almost 3 hour movie that felt like 5 because of the lack of action AND "witty" dialogue. It has it's moments, but they are only moments....in a fricking 3 hour movie. Don't get me wrong....it isn't a bad movie. It is just is what it is. .

And it Is probably just me, but how they were alternatively using translations and just the word spoken was somewhat irritating. If you are going to translate a line....then translate it.

i noticed that too and wondered what was up with it

And yes it was a 2 and a half hour movie that couldve been 1 and half without all the lengthy dialouge.

As for the subtitles i stopped reading them half way through.

I guess I stand alone with the general apathy of the movie.

same here brah. i think tarantino is getting a little too "cute" with his beloved dialogue. i've heard this movie drags from other people as well due to the dialogue, much like his half of grindhouse did

IMO the movie looks ridiculous. I'm not a Tarantino fan because his movies seem goofy.

I'm disapointed it's over 2.5 hours long. That's too fricking long.

I'll go see it but I'm less enthusiastic than I was before I found that out.

It is long and it does have some slow moments, but other parts of the movie definitely make up for it

I was one of the few people who really liked Death Proof. For whatever reason I thought my girlfriend at the time would've liked it too with the whole women's empowerment thing. I was wrong...she fell asleep.

Thought this quote from a critic was appropriate

quote:

How long will knee-jerk reviewers whine that Tarantino's dialogue slows narrative momentum? Get this, fellas: All that potent, stylized talk, pulsing with the rhythms of life and death, constitutes pure action. Too bad that action-movie hacks like Michael Bay have conditioned audiences into believing humans are incapable of uttering more than one or two sentences between CGI'd assaults. In Tarantino environs, talk is as deadly as literal crossfire. When arch-villain Landa wages war by bouncing handily about in four languages, speaking German with the wrong accent or butchering Italian can loose a bloodbath.

QT loves French New Wave ... which is all about dialogue.

I'm pretty excited about this movie. I'm not going in expecting action, mostly just weaving storylines, quirky quips, and adept filmmaking.

It is no From Dusk till Dawn

Robert Rodriguez is going to be pissed at you for saying that.
Seeing how he directed it.

I don't see why he would...seeing how QT co-produced it and wrote the screenplay.

The director isn't exactly the only "creative" person relevant.

From Dusk Till Dawn has Rodriguez's style dripping all over the movie.

Directors aren't the only element, but it is more or less THEIR movie.
