How big would it be if Chris Tolliver stepped up to be an impact player. Not sure if Jackson or Chris Mitchell can achieve this, but if Tolliver can deliver, that would make our receiving group even more dangerous. Have not heard much about Chris Tolliver other than this clip to date. He was supposedly a top prospect coming out of high school. Actually, I am hoping the all of the seldom used receivers step up and are very good, and just haven't seen the field much because of the studs we had at receiver the last few years.

quote:

With the talent of Brandon LaFell, Terrance Toliver, Rueben Randle, RJ Jackson, Chris Mitchell (and possibly Russell Shepard) in the wide receiver pool, most of the remaining receivers may go unnoticed from time to time. However, today seemed to be redshirt freshman Chris Tolliver’s best day yet from the portion of the practice the media is allowed to see. Tolliver, a redshirt freshman from Rayville, was considered one of the top prep receivers in the country when he signed with the Tigers.

there are few teams in the country that have a better 1-2 WR tandem than Lafell-Toliver ...both are upperclassmen with experience and both will be 1st or 2nd round draft picks. if they stay healthy we won't need much else this year, especially considering Dickson is another all-SEC upperclassmen target for Jefferson

Mitchell has played 4 years and is a senior who is still faster than most WRs in the SEC ..he is plenty fine as a #3 or #4 ...RJ is a tremendous athlete and great blocker, he'll be servicable

Reuben is the phenom and will play, but he doesn't even have to produce for us this year IMO... Chris-Tol is a good, fast slot option... DeAngelo Peterson is probably as versatile and athletic as any TE in the conference aside from Hernandez

I'd say we'll be fine

How about Jhryn Taylor or John Williams? Now that Tim Molton is out for the year, does anybody see them contributing at WR this year?

I thought he got better at the year progressed last season and expect him to be a high impact player.

terrance is my pick for breakout player of the year as long as we have qb(s) who can get the ball to our wr's. i think he has better nfl potential then lafell

I say he'll be the #3 by season's end...but I don't see that as a bad thing for him. RR is just that good...IMO.

I love Tolliver and LaFell, and I think this team will really benefit not having Byrd out there pouting. I'm not counting on Randle yet, but I really hope he lives up to the hype and becomes the next great LSU wideout.

The receiving corps looks like a huge strength this year.
