I know this video has been posted numerous times, but after seeing it again and realizing the playmakers from that year that are still on the team it makes me very hopeful for this season.

Relive the insanity

Cant believe non of Hesters 4th down conversions against florida made it on there. Those were the most intense moments of my life! He had 4 carries of a lifetime in 1 game, ha.
I just remember holding my breath everytime I saw him hit the line.

I was was just flat out wore out after that game. I was in the student section and it was just insane. I was drained after that game.

LSU's best team ever was the 2006 team.

I won't argue that, although we are better a RB now. I was not getting into a best team discussion though. I was just looking back at the crazy things and amazing plays of that season.

"LSU's best team ever was the 2006 team."

I respect this opinion, but I have a hard time agreeing with it. A total dud game at Florida, a total offensive dud at Auburn and two thrilling squeakers over good Arkansas and TN teams, also on the road (one of the more vicious road schedules I have ever seen). And then bowl win, while very impressive, was over an overmatched Notre Dame team.

Hard for me to say 2006 was better than the one-loss 2003 team that had wins over OU, an unusually good Ole Miss team, a blowout of Auburn, and two wins over Ga. (one close, one blowout).

Personnel-wise, probably so. But they underacheived.

But can anyone explain what happened to the defense in 2007? Was it injuries or did Pelini forget how to coach?

I think it was injuries, which had a dominoe effect. They caused BP to call a bit less agressive defense and hence the thinking to much problem. It may have been a bit of the defense reading the press clipings also.

as often as people bring up the fact that we were a play or two from an undefeated season, we were also a few plays from being a 5 loss team.

thats what makes cfb so exciting
