I think with the talent and the teams that we have in the SEC, Miles has been looking for comparative talent. When I look at the Spencer Ware highlights, I see the shiftyness and creativity that Knowshown Moreno displayed at Georgia. With Russell Sheppard, I see that running ability and game changing skills that Time Tebow displays. Maybe a better comparison is Vince Young, but you get the idea. Anyhow, I can also see a "Wild Tiger" offense with multiple options at quarterback. With the talent we're bringing in you have to think we will win another NC.

Comparing Shepard to Tebow is a bit of a stretch.... nothing about their games are similar. Spencer Ware compares to him better than Shepard. Tebow is huge and not fast... Shepard is barely 200 and very fast. If youre insinuating their personalities and leadership capabilities, I understand.

I don't agree with the comparison, but they are talented enough to contribute to a NC.

Ware does have a running style like Moreno.. that's the first person I thought of. Obviously he's more of a bruising running back.. but his shiftiness is very 'moreno like'.

Shep is nothing like Tebow. Totally different. This would be like comparing Randy Moss to Percy Harvin. Tebow has proven he can throw at a high FBS level, Shep still has to prove he can.

I considered these things when I was writing the statement, which is why I said that Vince Young might be a better comparison. In fact, I really want to compare him to Percy Harvin and would like to see him utilized the same way. But I was thinking that at the quarterback spot, when you have such a dangerous running threat, you have to use him. Also, Tim Tebow was guaranteed to get the short yards running and I think Russell Sheppard will be a guarantee to beat any DE around the corner and gain 5 yards, then slip out of bounds, because he's a little light. That is what I was thinking when I made the comparison.

The Moreno comparison is great; however, Moreno did it against SEC defenses and Spencer did it against some A-class defenses.

The kid has potential, be he is not a Knowshown Moreno yet.

Even Vince Young isn't a good comparison. Young was much bigger than Shep. I'm thinking Shep = Seneca Wallace at Iowa State.

And they're just letting him know how they feel. This board is not for the easily offended.

I don't care about comparing Russell Shepard to anyone. I'm excited to see him be Russell Shepard.

Ditto. And, lets at least get a chance to watch him in action a bit before making comparisons. I think he has the ability to be his own prototype.
