When watching LSU from a distance I always come away feeling they have dominating lines on both sides of the ball, lots of team speed and they are always able to run the football.

What are going to be the team's strengths this year?

My two major concerns:

1. Stopping the run

2. UW's O-line vs. the Tiger front 7.

Anybody else jacked up about football?

Well that doesn't bode well for yall because running the ball is what we do best.

Well we have talent coming out of every end but there is still a lot of questions that need to be answered.

Personally, I think our defense will be much better (which might not being saying a whole lot) but any improvement will be a plus.

Our QB situation is still in question but it will not be as bad as last year (the guys are more experienced, etc).

We were a 5 lose team last year and it appears that the areas we struggled in will be improved so take that for what it is worth.

Not quite always, but that's usually a pretty good baseline summary. We also have a great passing game from time to time, which is when we are REALLY dangerous on offense.

As my fellow Tiger fan already pointed out, this is a bad sign for y'all. Whatever our struggles may be on both sides of the ball, it is a safe bet that running the ball on offense will not be one of them (relatively speaking). Unless our passing game is totally dead in the water allowing you to stack 8+ in the box every play, it will take a solid run defense to stop us on the ground.

We will have to wait and see how Chavis' defensive ipmrovements play out, but concerns on the O-Line are never a happy situation. We have the speed and athleticism to blitz a lot, but also enough to not have to blitz. If our DL play with the focus and intensity they claim to have regained, it could be a long night for an offensive backfield operating behind a weak line.

If I were you, I would hope for really shaky play from our QBs, and a lot of hesitancy and confusion on the part of our defense while it adjusts to the new scheme. What I would expect, however, is fairly stable play from QBs not asked to do much as our running game pounds away at your defense and a D-Line that contains your running game and puts pressure on your QB to force plays into a very athletic secodary.

I'd be very concerned about an embarrassment in Seattle for the 'dawgs'.. Containing the run and our WR's (JoJo, Terrance, and the gang) may be somewhat difficult.

Honestly, we don't know. Our defense was atrocious last year, but we have a new DC with a new scheme, so we're hopeful that things have gotten better. We had a problem with inconsistent QB play last year, but we're also hopeful that that has improved, since both of them will be more experienced this year.

That's been the trend in recent years, but we're not sure right now. The OL was very solid last year, but we've got new faces that have to step up this year. The DL was a disappointment last year, but we're confident in our talent and hoping that'll improve this year.

Our biggest strength is probably going to be our running backs.

Uh-oh. Unless our OL doesn't come through.

If you ask me how good our front 7 will be in the 2050 season, I'd say that it'll be good. That's just a tradition here. Sometimes, we have an exceptional year when it's not, but in most years, we're pretty solid up front on defense.

It's been a pretty busy year for me, so this off season has passed faster than any other in my memory, but I'm excited, no doubt.

first off, welcome to the rant, check your sanity at the homepage. You are now hooked and will not be allowed to leave.

as far as our team I think the others have summed it up well. I am looking for drake nevis (DL) to come through big time this year. Our running game is usually always solid and with chuck the truck fresh it will be a long night if your front seven is shaky. Other than that I just hope we have a good trip and both sides come away healthy....... and the the Tigers roll of course.

Nice choice of team colors btw. :)
