That is the psychology that most people miss. That is why the LSU prediction LSU matt made (and I independently made to my mirror LOL) was a lock a few years back.

When push comes to shove the final vote will be taken very seriously and the right decisions will be made. 2 weeks out voters are just checking boxes. We were going to jump Ga and VT once they thought about it.

I am still a playoff guy though!

After some early season shakeups, most people need to see a certain degree of stability in polls. There's generally no need to shake things up because this stuff tends to sort itself out and they take seriously the few key decisions that don't. If polls were as sensitive as some suggest they should be it would really drive people nuts. And don't get me started on those who think you have to watch every ULL game before you can be qualified to decide that they aren't #1.

The BCS is a playoff; it should be 4 teams, but no more.
