the '93 and '96 teams had some heroics .. remember the bottom of the 9th rally against long beach state in the elimination game ? we were down and out .. won that, then smoked wichita state the next day for the title 8-0 on freshman brett laxton's 16 Ks ... and everyone knows the '96 team's drama ..

I think this year's offense was just as good as any, except for maybe 97. You put those bats in the hands of Dean, Schimpf, JMitch and the these guys and they could have cranked in 150 HRs. I think we hit about 110 this season with the much smaller bats. My ranks are;

Well,remember the TOP of the 9th rally against Long Beach State in the elimination game of the "South II" game in Baton Rouge in 1997 after South Alabama had beaten us.
As powerful as that '97 team was they came 'that' close to not having made it out of Baton Rouge.
