He'll have the opportunity to be the full-time starter in his senior year in 2012 (though I wish it was 2013..I think he should redshirt.

this kid will not redshirt, i understand what your saying but he's not redshirting.

Given his ability with the ball in his hand I don't think anyone, but you, really wants to see this kid get a redshirt. His future is NOT at QB.
