Afreaux - Mexican restaurant question

A local restaurant owner told me his friend owns a place on coursey called La Jolla (i think?). i looked for it online but can't find anything. i figured if anyone would know anything about this place its you.

I've honestly never heard of it.
If you get off Airline and head down Coursey, you pass Fernando's and Las Palmas. Once you cross Sherwood, there's Montana's Colombian restaurant, near Pocorello's. Between that and Jones Creek, I don't recall there being any other Mexican places. Even if you turn left on Jones Creek, there's Ahuuas, and to the right is another taqueria (can't remember the name, but it's not La Jolla / La Joya).
Maybe it's on George O'Neal. Even if it is, I've never heard of a restaurant or taqueria with that name.

Casa LaVida is the only other one I can think of on Coursey.

I don't really know what you mean by that, because the pizza was always great at his old location. There are two schools of thought on this: do you want quality or quantity?
Johnny D's pizza uses fresh, top quality ingredients. Now the pizza will be pricier than at your typical, shitty chain place but it will be worth it. His crust was excellent, very crisp on the outside and chewey on the inside.
if you want a dominoe's 5-5-5 deal than go for it. compared to johnny d's their pizza sucks. places like that use processed meats, cheeses, and sauces. because of this i can eat an entire dominoe's pizza, but could only eat two slices of johnny d's pizza before i was really full. that's what quality ingredients do

There is also a La Mexicana down at the end of Jones Creek, but that is hell and gone from Coursey.

There is a new Mexican place (I think) on O'Neal in that small shopping center in between those townhomes and the bridge. Not sure what it is called. It seems that I have seen that name very recently, so that may have been it.

i think i'll go talk to him today. juanita's may have sounded like la jolla in a loud restaurant.

No, Juanita's #2 is all the way at Jones Creek and Shenandoah. If you're on Coursey and make a right on Jones Creek, there's another taqueria on the right in a little strip mall, it's probably the only one I haven't been to yet.

Its somewhere between Sherwood and Jones Creek.

I hate driving that far out unless I'm already going in that direction. I actually stumbled across the place looking for Ahuuas.
I'm also less inclined to check a place out if someone I know doesn't mention it to me. That doesn't always mean I'll like it, but I'm more likely to give it a try.
Montana's Colombian Restaurant is one of those places I tried without really hearing anything about it, and it's a great little place. One of my friends recently bought Fernando's and started offering Colombian dishes not on the menu, so I'm just as likely to get a bandeja paisa there because it's closer.

what do you recommend for someone who is an adventerous eater and wants a true taste of colombia?
