Wayne's BBQ - Livingston

My wife and I ate at Wayne's BBQ in Livingston for lunch today. I couldn't find much in the way of reviews before hand, so let me save you guys the gas money. I'd recommend not going. I had the pork plate. It was unappealing slabs/hunks of mildly smoked pork. I tried the bbq beans and fried okra. The fried okra was the best thing on the plate, and that is because they probably poured in a handful of frozen okra in the fryer. The beans were most likely straight canned beans and the accompanying Texas toast was obviously from a frozen box.
My wife had a bbq beef sandwich with coleslaw. She took a few bites and that was it. I tried it and it was inedible. They took their ends and pieces and soaked it in sauce. The trouble is their "spice rub" formula is 1-part salt 0-Parts anything else. It was disgusting. She described the coleslaw as "blah served at an off putting mildly warm temperature."
The atmosphere inside was pretty weak as well. I'd be willing to look past that if the food was up to snuff. All in all, based on my pork plate it was "ok" at best. I've actually had much worse. With that said, we won't be making the drive back out there.

I use to stop by when I had the chance for work; it was always solid but not great. Maybe they had a bad day.
