...spinoff from CHL thread.

The CHL cast had a lot of actors who have had very successful careers. Any other movie with that strong of a cast?

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Though most were cameos, I can't can't think of a movie that had more big names in it.

Some of the old war movies had huge superstar ensemble casts.

The Longest Day had John Wayne, Henry Fonda, Robert Mitchum, Sean Connery, Peter Lawford, Paul Anka, Roddy McDowell, Red Buttons, Rod Steiger, Robert Wagner and Richard Burton in it.

Midway had Dabney Coleman, Larry Czonka, Eric Estrada, Henry Fonda, Glenn Ford, Charlton Heston, Hal Holbrook, Robert Mitchum, Pat Morita, Tom Selleck and Robert Wagner.

If you are looking for movies made with actors who went on to be big afterwards you have American Graffiti. Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Cindy Williams, Mackenzie Phillips, Suzanne Somers, Kathleen Quinlan and Harrison Ford. True, Ron Howard and Cindy Williams were already well known from Andy Griffith/Happy Days/Laverne and Shirley, but Dreyfuss and Ford were virtual unknowns at the time.

This is the movie I always think of when it comes to little-known actors who later broke through.

BTW, This was BEFORE Happy Days/Laverne and Shirley. Ron Howard was familiar from Andy Griffith but Williams was all but unknown, as was Harrison Ford. Richard Dreyfuss had played some supporting roles and was not unknown, but this made him a star.

That's right. AG was 1973 I think and Happy Days started in 74. I always get it confused which came first.

I always think of Raising Arizona. Cage, Holly Hunter and Francis McDormand all went on to win Oscars after this movie.

Mad Mad Mad Mad World and it is not even close, but younger people will only know a few people in the movie.

This cast was insane. Yes many of the stars just popped in with small cameos, but the cast was just ridiculous.

If you were a comedian at the time and did not have at least a cameo in this movie, you probably fired your agent. Everyone was in this movie.

It was like The Hall of Fame for comedians, all in one movie.
