I was the first generation of my family born outside La.(Houston) and I must tell you that I take much more pride in growing up in La. and attending LSU than being a native texan. Of course my ancestors had an interesting past(direct Laffite decendent) and we traced our roots back to Tartas France(around Bordeaux) in the 1630's so there is much more of my history there than some maybe. People can dog on Louisiana if they wish , but it is a state that is truly like no other in the union.
