It hit the mitt to change direction, not the batter. You could not see that from the front view, had to see the play from behind gibbs to see it hit the glove.

The front view looked like it hit him and the ball changed direction.

The back view looked like it missed him and only changed direction coming off Gibbs glove.

I'm going with the clearer view (behind the batter).
A bunch of 3rd graders yelling "I'm right, you're wrong!" is beyond rantarded.
