I tend to agree with Raparooot. To use the word hero is a bit out of line. That word should be reserved for people like the guys that stormed Omaha Beach on D-Day and the firefighters and police officers rushing up the stairs on 9-11. You guys that are saying Raparooot is being oversensative just don't see where he is coming from. Good post Raparooot!!!!!

I also have a flag in my front yard that flies every single day.

Why does the word have to be mutually exclusive to those things in which you deem them to be seving America? Using the word "hero" in a context of baseball is just as accurate as using it in a context that you find arbitrarily accurate.

It's a word. It's meaning can and does extend outside of service to the country. Sorry but this thread and oversensitivity is ridiculous.
