He's the best. He's consistently the most accurate prognosticator. I think he doesn't do preseason though. His predictions are usually the way he thinks it will be at the end.

I'm sure Bama is in the top 5 with an unproven QB.

Just FWIW, this is a prediction of his on where the teams will finish the year, not necessarily who he thinks the best teams are.

shouldn't we care about this list more than?

b/c i mean i don't really hear about teams bragging about where they were ranked in the preseason polls, right?

He probably isn't that far off. Look objectively at the schedule and the team, and you will see that 9-3 is most likely. That doesn't mean that we wont go 10-2 or 8-4. It just means that we will most likely finish 9-3. If that is the case, after an SEC championship loss, we would be 9-4 which puts us proly somewhere between 19-13 depending on the other teams. I kinda agree with old Phil

I guess. He's just using how good he thinks teams are, plus their schedule. I'm sure if he was ranking them just by team strength, LSU would be higher.

Well, it's upto Miles and co. to prove him wrong. After a 5 loss season, I don't see how we should be any higher.

How can LSU have the toughest schedule in the SEC, but only the 21st ranked schedule in the country?

I know we dont play much OOC, but the toughest conf schedule in the toughest conf should be ranked higher than 21! Wouldnt you think?

i will be able to make a better judgment of that if i saw some of the teams ahead of us schedules

Because of the schedule, I think we definitely could finish 17th, depending on who the losses come against.

AL, GA, FL, and OM are all toss-ups (actually FL would be an upset), and AU and Ark. will be tough games that could be decided by breaks and turnovers.

I'm thinking 9 - 3 at best- altho I hope that would put us higher than 17th.

If Phil Steele's mag this year is anything like last years, 2/3 of the Pac-10 will have tougher schedules than us.
