He's currently ranked 54th as an "athlete" on Rivals, one spot ahead of Delino Deshields's son and two spots behind Drew Dileo. The last 4-star is the number 27 athlete, so that speaks volumes about how McKnight has been evaluated.
Bo loves to offer marginal LA kids who probably won't go to LSU, but I can't figure out why AL and TN have offered McKnight. I guess they bought into the hype.

He started off being a national recruit because he was Joe's brother and played for a power program. Also, people thought he would not go to LSU because of Joe. You are spot on about Pelini. Tennessee and bama offered him because they keep trying to make inroads to LA.
