IF you are one of those that prefer Hanagriff over Hawthorne, well
JH brings much more excitement.
CH does a good job, he just doesnt have the radio voice JH does.
JMHO

I agree. Hanagriff= Content while Hawthorne= great voice and excitement.

I agree with you, but we may be in the minority on this board.

I agree. Hawthorne makes a few more mistakes, but if you listen, you can figure out what is going on 99.9% of the time. Nothing against CH, but Hawthorne does bring more excitement with his voice.

Hanigriff is about as exciting as watching the grass grow. Hawthorne will try to explain to you that the grass is having a terrible day and should be growing a lot faster. My goodness.

Hanagriff sounds like he just took a bottle of valium. Sooooo slow and boring.

Hawthore: It's way back, way back, he's at the warning track... and it drops in for a base hit.
Sure he's exciting but whoever fricking knows what game he's watching?

Agreed though Charlie doesnt have a great radio voice at least the play by play matches what is happening on the field. Of course saying Hawthorne has a better voice is like saying boring is better than very boring. I cant understand why a program like LSU doesnt go out and get one quality announcer. A good radio voice and a knowledgable play by play guy. With Jim we have neither and Charlie has only the knowledge.

Im curious to know what IYO consititues an "exciting" announcer....
Do yourself a favor, go to lsusports.net and then go to ringtones,,, there are about 20 JH calls over the years from baseball, basketball and football.... There is something terribly wrong with you if those calls dont give you chills.
We could have a mix of John Madden, Howard Cosell, Al Michaels, and Brent Musberger and some of you would still BITCH.

If you want excitment, JH is your guy.
If you want to know what actually happens, CH is your man.

When GeauxZone offers video, I like Hawthorne, but days like today Hanagriff is good.

hmmmmmmmm....... dont they usually team up.

I would bitch about anything involving Brent Musberger.

Agree. For his occasional faults, Hawthorne still does a better PBP. Hanagriff is better as an analyst/commentator.

you know how you always form a picture of a radio person. Well, in no racist gesture at all, I always thought Hannigrif sounded like a black man. Even though I've seen him plenty of times, I still imagine him being black. Weird.
Charles does a better job keeping the radio audience in the know. Hawthorne will go 2 innings without telling the score.
In baseball, I prefer Hannigrif

I hear this alot..
Serious quesiton... Do you need to hear the freaking score every other batter?? geeesssss.
I mean if im listening to the game and I know the score, I can count. I can also keep up with the action enough to know what the score is.
I went out of my way to listen for the score last couple games and honestly see the problem.

First of all BT nowhere in my post did I say anything about an exciting announcer. I said I wanted a knowledgable one with a good radio voice. Having lived all over the country and actually heard other teams broadcasters and having a pool to compare him to I can tell you Hawthorne is at the bottom of the barrel. I dont
see why everyone wouldnt want LSU to have a first rate announcer representing the school. We obviously dont have one now.

+1
Hawthorne may make alot of mistakes, but is almost preferred as at least he makes it somewhat interesting.
