Best place to buy a house

Within the next year or so I'm looking to buy a house. I want to get my credit score a little higher and save for a downpayment. In terms of housing prices is there a big difference between buying in BR, Prairieville, and Denham Springs? I'd like to buy in BR if I can find something I like within my price range but the other two aren't out of the question if I find something I like.

Absolutely. Too many reasons to list.

If you need a higher credit score and are still saving I would recommend leaving BR limits. I bought a 3 BR 2 Bath that is 4 years old in Denham for 129K

Tigers03, it really depends on you and where you want/need to be.
I just purchased a home in BR. It's no secret that with the same amount of money, I could've done something newer and bigger in Denham, Livingston, Prairieville, etc... but I wanted to be in BR proper.
It depend on where you work, your tolerance for traffic, schools (if you have kids). There's always going to be some kinds of trade offs.

I don't think I have to have a higher credit score to get a loan. I checked my credit score earlier this year and it was around 735 from the three credit bureaus. I just wanted to try to get it as high as possible.
