I am trying to do a crawfish boil for my fraternity in Charleston, SC and was wondering the best way to get live crawfish. Does anyone know of a place that has them close by Charleston? Or is there a preferred live shipping place? I don't have thousands to spend so cheapest/best quality is what I am looking for. Thank you.

I have taken some waxed chicken boxes, dumped live in them, places frozen ice packs in there and sent them air freight to Chicago. They did great but it isn't cheap.

There's a company in Natchitoches, LA that ships live crawfish around the country. I'll see if I can get you a name and phone number.

Here's the website. LA Crawfish

They grow them and ship them all around the country.

Allied Services in Lafayette used to do it, but they switched owners a few months ago. Won't hurt to give them a call (337)988-2676

La Seafood Exchange in New Orleans used to do it for about $100 per sack with shipping on SOuthwest Airlines. Haven't had to line any up in 2 years.
