Lottery pick = $$$$$$$. No one here can legitimately say the temptation wouldn't be too great for you. I'd skip out for the cash too.

I highly doubt Butch Pierre specifically undermined Johnson to get Randolph out. LSU thrived and succeeding in spite of the lack of his presence.

As for PT's comment, I hate the NBA, but for reasons far beyond this. I hated players going straight from high school, but I hate the token one year even more.

Of course I would, too. If the rules would just change (make it to where if you enter college, you must stay 3 seasons - like football - or until you are 21), no one would have the choice to begin with.

He didn't.

It's THE joke of all leagues, if you ask me. Where else can a franchise win 35 of 82 games in a season and still make post season? Where else do the playoffs last two months? I mean....damn, could we just get Boston, Cleveland, L.A., and one other to play for the damn thing? I hate the NBA and its piped in music playing during possessions, its lethargic until playoff time crowd, and players getting to take 4 steps without traveling being called. I hate leagues that fire coaches after one season and there isn't a bigger example of a group of overgrown children...it's a wonder they even have coaches in the NBA.

If you love LSU basketball...I mean really love it, then I do not see how the hell you can even like the NBA. Thinking back to all the great players LSU lost to the league and its ability to lure in college ballers who think that their lives are just too damn tough to not enter the NBA draft...last I checked, full scholarships are pretty cheap. I realize it ain't $25 million, but it's still not a bad life. Players like Derrick Rose and O.J. Mayo make mockeries of their institutions. Why even make them go attend classes when all they're going to do is play one year? Do championships mean anything to universities not named Duke and UNC?

Like I said, I wouldn't pass up lotto pick money either. I am not contradicting what I just said because there needs to be rules to implement...keep players from going to college for just a year. I have no problem with the "straight outta high school" move, because no one should have to go to college. If, however, you do go to a university to play ball and that institution is giving you a full ride to play a sport - feeding you, sheltering you, and a lot more - the I feel you owe it to that school to pay it back. Players who do the "one and done" are not concerned at all with winning titles. To me, that's what college sports is all about, but the "me" mentality has obscured that and MY personal opinion is that it's a damn shame.

* This is my opinion and it'll never be swayed. That's fine if you disagree.
