Maybe you can't read AND comprehend. I said they "might" have been better. Certainly in '07, Parkview could have competed with most teams in any classification, their offensive line could dominate games. The '01 Parkview team was outstanding and certainly could have competed with Curtis.
I have the utmost respect for Curtis. They are very well coached, play hard and have kids who are committed to winning. Same as Parkview. Parkview does it right, they work their asses off, and are extremly well coached.
I'm not crazy, and yes I would have bet on Parkview in either '01 or '07. The '08 Parkview team would have been very competitive with Curtis. I watched Curtis, and while I was very impressed, they were not head and shoulders better than Parkview. Would have been a great game last year.
I would love to see those two play a home and home, but don't look for it, they both are probably avoiding each other for power point issues.
Parkview will play Acadiana home and home the next two years. Should be very interesting.

Yes, I saw Curtis in '07. Did you see Parkview play the same year? It would have been an outstanding game. There were only two teams in '07 who could match up physically with Parkview, one was Westlake and the other was Cecilia.
Curtis played great against Hoover. Hoover turned out to not be nearly as strong in '07 as everybody thought they would be. I will certainly give Curtis a lot of credit, I thought they were outstanding and I have nothing but respect for JT and their program. They don't have to recruit, kids and parents recruit Curtis. Parkview is exactly the same way. Guillot does not have to recruit. Kids and their parents want to play for Parkview. The football is great, and the support from their Huddle Club is run like a college program.
We can agree to disagree, I think both programs are outstanding. If it makes you feel any better, i think Curtis is the more consistently dominating program, but there have been two Parkview teams in particular that would have been very competitive with Curtis. Just my opinion.

quote:I played curtis in 07 and it was like i was playing in college, i was going up against Johnathan English who is the starting nose guard at Arizona State..Joe Mcknight was all over the field and as you no is at USC..the whole defensive back unit signed d1..Alabama, Ole miss, and Nebraska...I know the outside backer is at kentucky also.I have heard that Parkview had a great team in 07..i cant honestly say they were better bc i admitt i never saw them play, im only going off of what i played against..

Joe Mcknight did not play for Curtis in '07, he played for USC. He finished his High School career after his senior football season in the fall of '06.
Parkview featured an offensive line, that had two LSU signees(Spencer and Ainsworth, and an SMU signee, Jordan Free) along with about 6 other kids who were very good High school offensive linemen. The Line averaged over 285 lbs, and were dominating the whole year. The only team they really had any difficulty with physically was Westlake in the AAA finals.
No doubt, Curtis was a great team in '07, as they are every year, but in '01 and '07 Parkview was also VERY GOOD.
Try at least having watched a team, before you state absolutes about how they match up.

I can read and comprehend very well. I know what you said. There is no "might" about it. Parkview has never been better than Curtis, especially in 07. I know Parkview was good, but that Curtis team was one of the top 5 in the entire country. Parkview would have been beaten by 2 TD's by Curtis. Parkview would have no answer to stop Joe McKnight. McKnight would touch the ball 4 times and score 5. He was that good. Not trying to be an arse, and no Curtis doesn't win every game, but I would not pick against them. They don't have the best all time winning % in the country for nothing.

There is only one problem with your theory, Mcknight did not play for Curtis in the fall of '07. I respect your opinion, and we will have to agree to disagree. I would have paid to see that game.

Dileo avg about 30 yds on kick off returns. His field vision is sick. He is a threat to take it all the way any time he returns kick off or a punt. Parkview 07 team was a running machine, teams would load 9 and 10 in the box,and still could not slow down there running game. They had a college size offense line. They push 290 to 300 across the line and what was really special the lineman had speed, and were quick on there feet. I really would like to have seen JC and PB hook it up in 07. Do yall think LSU or other SEC teams may offer Dileo?
Posted on 3/20/09 at 5:37 pm to LSUcrawfish
i think, and im an expert,( ) that Dileo will garnish his fair share of offers and will have a fun recruiting process. If Michigan is offering this early then i think other majors will follow. SEC offers? i think so, but the major players in the SEC???? he will have several choices of were to go and play. wish him the best and if his dream is to be a Tiger....then i hope that happens for him.

I hear he would jump on a LSU offer. Of course what kid from BR Wouldn't. Parkview has been a major pipeline to LSU .

Slowmeaux what exactly did your Dads stopwatch say your 40 time in the backyard was? I was a 4.12 in my backyard, probably a 5.9 on a real clock.

I'm not bashing, but how does he stand apart from the rest of the 5'10 170 lb 4.5 guys around the state? There are a good number of them.

John Curtis is to Deep and to athletic for parkview. It wouldnt be a blowout because parkview would run their grind it out offense and hold the ball half the game. but they wouldnt win. John curtis runs a split veer offense. and parkview runs a navy option. their both option offenses but they are totally different in scheme.
