PS3: MLB The Show (gamer tags)

good to see a thread from February 3rd is still stickied but this one isnt....

Updated still don't have gamertags for a lot of the guys who want to do the online league.

Well I haven't spent a lot of time on this board, but I feel pretty capable of running a good league if you'd rather I'd set it up. It seems like there's been a bit of controversy over Tchamp for whatever reason (no offense).

I don't mind playing or commishing I just think we should go ahead and get somewhat organized about it so we can get this thing going in a reasonable amount of time.

I checked out the making a league stuff and here's some of what's available.

League Type: Divisonal/Round Robin
# of Teams (4-30) even numbers
Fantasy Draft (my. fav. thing about these games)
# of series per divisional opponent(1-5?)
# of series per non-divisional opponent (1-2)
# of games per series (1,3,5)
# of days to complete series (1,3,5,7)
Level of Difficulty
Guess Pitch
Pitching meter style
Base running style
Fast Play
Inujuries

There's more but I'd think these to be the most important.

Here's my opinon of things first of all you want to keep the number of dead beats down so I think making sure everyone has played a few games is a good idea, but I know a lot of people will have limited time so you don't want to make it too many. (from what I can tell there is no minimum 10 this year).

If I was running the league, all I'd ask is that you try to play 3 "scrimmages" before we got the league rolling just to make sure people are flexible enough to be able to work in their games.

I'd prefer 3 game series over 7 days, that way you get to play, and if you are busy or something comes up you have the maximum time to work it in, but 1 game per week would keep the league slow.

I'd say depending on interest I'd think min. 12 and I'd max all the way up to 30 so long as everyone who joins can make the scrimmages and proves they'll play their games.

Style of Play 2 Divisions (American and National)
Level of Difficulty - Veteran (for now)
Guess Pitch - off
Pitch meter - I'm cool either way
Base Running (I think this is an option) I'd go either way
Fast play is a must
Injuries On
Fantasy Draft on (you have to pick a day and time for it as well).

I'd also suggest people posting times their available if someone's only available during the day and some people only during the night would help to set up divisions accordingly.

Like I said I'm willing to put in some leg work to get this going, I just want to make sure we aren't full of dead beaters or people abusing glitches to win the league and it's competitive.

by the way, if there isnt any objections i would like to change my team from the Giants to the Phillies

personally i rather play rookie but its just my opinion
