I attended Leesville High School Principal's List banquet last night - an event honoring students who have maintained a 3.8 GPA.
Eddy Fuller was the guest speaker. I had seen him play both at Leesville and at LSU, but never knew that he was a scholar as well.
Turns out he was outstanding as a student, both at LHS and at LSU.
When he went to the Buffalo Bills, they were in four straight Super Bowls. Eddie still had to get 9 hours to get his degree from LSU - and after three years of that Super Bowl shite, he was still unable to register during the Spring semester to finish his degree since registration closed way before the big game was over.
He petitioned the chancellor to let him register late - and was granted the privilege - so he finally completed his degree.
His theme was 'commitment.'
Overall a good speech - I applaud such student-atheletes. Wish we had more of them.
He revealed that he 'got in trouble' early on at LSU - didn't say what it was but I presumed he meant drugs. He said it only took one phone call from his mother to set him straight.

Not sure I know an Eddy Fuller that played for Leesville and LSU but I have met an Eddie J. Fuller on a couple of occasions...
He and Kevin Mawae are very humble and down right excellent human beings. Both are truly great representatives of Leesville and LSU.
Before she was Lady T. but while we were dating, she met Kevin on a couple of occasions and he was always extremely nice to her. Even if I had never met Kevin myself, the way he treated my wife would be enough to say he's good people.
The couple times I met Eddie were pretty nice. Though he will be remembered for greater things, I will always remember Eddie saying (not exact quote): I would love to get more playing time but if Buffalo wants to pay me $300,000/yr to sit on the bench because I have a jammed finger, that will work for me...

The current staff at LHS wants players like Eddie to come back and be a bigger part of the Wampus Cats and be positive role models for the young guys.
By the way Wampus Cat, I know people are thinking Leesville will be down with Ford and Stallworth gone, but this team is going to be scary good the next three years. There is more talent in the cupboard than LHS has had in a very long time.
Rumor has it that the big TE Will Graves (6-7, 255) may be moved to offensive tackle to prepare him for college.

great dude. i know him from work [aka Earthquake Eddie} and he is a very class guy. see him around the hospital and he will never shy away from talking to anyone. he is quite the conversationalist and has so much to share about his life as a football player. one of the things that resinated most wit hme was he told "i am only famous after all of these years bc Hodson went back in the huddle and said 'redeem yourself - same play'. My most famed success is the result of having failed the play right before it. If Hodson wouln't have thrown that ball to me again, you wouldn't even know who i am". he is a great dude and y'all did great by choosing him to speak.

Why is it necessary to call people out about spelling? Eddy or Eddie, everyone here knows to whom the gent was refering. Is it so important that we know you know an ex-player or two? uess that makes you feel special. I think your slogan would be better if it stated "idiot surrounded". Get a real life!
