does anyone know the startegy of taking 3 RBs one year, and not taking another true RB the next 2 years? seems like the staff likes to load up on one position a certain year, then forget about it for a few years.

well, when you have Keiland, Charles Scott and Murphy come out in one year you have to take them all. Hell, we even passed on Chris Brown in state that year and he is a beast for OU.

Then we went all out for McKnight.

Its not like we didn't try to go after a RB in the 2 years. We did...It just wasn't a need, so we went for the best.

The only other running back in state worth while was McKnight.

We took 3 RBs in 2006 but Murphy redshirted so that staggered it a little.

In 2007 we went after McKnight but also got Ridley (played RB in HS) who then also redshirted.

It's not like we are in bad shape after Williams and Scott leave.

Senior - Murphy
Junior - Ridley

And then Ford will be a freshman/sophomore depending on if he gets a redshirt and then also any other recruits we get in 2010.

Because you load up in one year and hope that one guy emerges as the "go-to-guy"

And, if that's the case, you won't need another guy to step up and become that guy until a couple years pass.

Just my thought about it, but I don't know if there's any truth to that.
