So I follow this group on FB that does rides on the Kisatchie roads. They've got a huge map of them and people get together and go ride. Long rides. Not mudding. Cruising the dirt roads. Which if you read the rules you would think is perfectly legal and encouraged to enjoy the resource.
You would be wrong.

That happened in front of fifteen vehicles full of people before they rode out. It's starting to blow up because they basically just made up a charge and cost that guy $180 like they were doing him a favor. And the reason they singled him out was he was the one that set up the group page on FB which apparently turns him into a guide? But it wouldn't had they not had a FB page apparently and just used phones or snail mail or something.
Be careful on Kisatchie baws. You don't know the rules no matter what you think.

Forest Service rules can be frustrating to try and follow. Many are impossible to find out or just straight up tribal knowledge. Is that hump just a waterbar or an intentional barrier for that dirt road?
The Florida forests have gone to a special rule for dispersed camping that you have to be in a tent 100' from your car. Good luck finding that rule on their websites though.
Keep your area clean and say yessir nosir and hope the officer isn't having a bad day.

That's not acceptable. We can't have local bureaucrat potentates making the rules and not even posting them anywhere. That's bullshite.

Seems he received the attention he was seeking.

That guy was just enthusiastic about his new hobby and wanted to meet people that were too to do the thing he was enthusiastic about. That shouldn't be a crime.

At least he got to show off his new tires.
