Holy Growth Spurt Batman.

My son is 11 and about 5’5”. He grew about a foot this year is going to grow even more this summer.

He is tall but his strength and form is still developing.

Any advice? Do I just get him a decent used adult set and let him grow into it?

How tall is Mom and Pop? Growth patterns can be strange. I was a very tall 4-6 year old. Was very short at ages 12-15. Then became much taller than average at age 16 and beyond. It's often not very linear.

I'd lean towards just getting him a normal length set or one that is about half an inch shorter for now. Realistically, when he hits that 14-15 range and if he starts playing competitive high school golf, you will want to update the set quality regardless of height.

Thanks for the input. He should top out around 6’1” or 6’2” like his brother.

Good advice and well taken.

Tour edge makes a good starter set for kids that doesn’t break the bank. My daughter is the same age and is enjoying her set.

If he gets more serious and keeps growing, that’ll be a good time to get him a sold used set (or new depending on your budget).

If he gets up over 6’ I would get a basic fitting for length and lie angle.

Lynx makes a great youth set that mine used for years untill he upgraded last year.

It never gets mentioned but I was impressed with them. I've emailed back and forth with customer service a few times over the years about different thing and they were always more than helpful.

Can buy the set or individual clubs to piece together the set you want. Mine used the silver set which I believe was the longest ones, he is tall as well.
