Question about football officiating

So, the NFL and the union for the pro referees are at an impasse. The NFL has announced that they are getting college refs to fill the gaps. Has anyone heard or know how that works? Are they going to do double duty (ref on Sat and NFL on Sunday)? Are conferences going to drop down to lower conferences to get refs to replace those lost to NFL?
SEC refs are not great to begin with. Could the SEC end up w replacement refs as a result of NFL?

No idea but I'm of the belief that refs should rotate conferences every game or every few games and not to be stuck with the same corrupt refs every season.

Not saying it will be the same this time, but last time this happened, it was mostly lower division college refs who had to give up their college schedules. There is a strong relationship between Division 1 football officiating leadership and the NFL Officials Association. It is highly frowned upon if they cross the picket line. I had two buddies I called division 2 college games with who did it last time. They said it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and they would do it again even though it pretty much ended their college officiating careers.

It's going to be lower-level officials from D2, D3, and Juco. I've been seeing it all over our social media and publications.

They will not do double duty. There are a lot of differences in rules between NFL & NCAA, so the NFL will want the replacement officials to be completely focused on their rules/games.
