More interesting is South Carolina CBs. It mentions that they lost their top 3 CBs and how difficult it will be to replace.

It fails to mention that they lost their CB coach to us.

Even if RS plays as well as Jefferson in practice, experience will still get the nod.

How can that even be a battle? I think myself, and a lot of ranters have come to the conclusion that Jefferson is starting, Shepard will have his own packages, and Lee is the backup

Yea I think Russell will have to be unbelievable in the spring practices and game to have a shot at the starting job because nothing is better than expierence. I do however think Russell will be 2 on the depth chart cause I think he can beat out Lee.

Regardless who gets the starting job, that constant competition for the starting position is going to pay dividends. They will always be looking over their shoulder and work harder to retain the starting job. That being said, BOTH will play at QB.

you really believe RS will beat out JL?
Its not carved in stone JJ will beat out JL.

RS is an unproven talent that has never taken a snap at the Div 1 level.
JJ has started 2 games. TWO...played 2 good first halves 2 mediocre second ones.

Neither of these guys has had their feet held to the fire as JL has.
maybe they will fare better maybe not.

Time will tell.

There is no QB competition
Jefferson is our starter, JL is #2
RS will have his own plays or will play another position

True, but I'm going with the belief that it will not be one all season, like last year (which was a giant clusterfrick). I think it will be an honest competition but when it comes to CLM, experience matters, giving JL & JJ an edge over RS
Now if there is a competition between JL & JJ, who do you think's gonna win?

I really think he can, but I dont know if he will. I have no idea what to expect from this years LSU team. I could see it being an amazing year with everything falling into place and winning it all, but then I can also see LSU going 8-4 in the regular season. To many question marks around the SEC to know for sure.

it's not really about rs beating out lee for backup.. it's more of a jefferson will start and shep will get the perrilloux role therefore he will get more action.. than lee.. i don't know how the depth will work but i believe thats what it should be.. a jefferson/shep combo..

do you even consider that by trading RS for JL that we could have SAME EXACT problems as last year?

Freshman QBs in the SEC or hell Div1 generally DONT FUKING WORK people.

RS, contrary to what some of you people think is not GOD. Its FOOLISH and just not logical to believe that he will not exp some of the same challenges JL faced last year.
I wouldnt be surprised in the least to see the kid redshirt. NOt saying he will, just that it wouldnt surprise me if he did.

My GUESS is:

JL is likely to be the starter next year. JJ will get significant playing time. In fact they may run a two qb system.

If RS does not redshirt, he will be used or certain play sets, some of which may be under center.

Garrett will likely redshirt.

For all you who want to throw JL under the bus, realize that before his injury he was the 4th highest rated freshman qb in the nation and the highest rated in a BCS conference. People want to destroy him for ints that became tds. Realize that most of these were returned for 30 yards or more and some for over 50. It's not against the rules to tackle you know. Furthermore, JL's stats were tracking better than Stafford's freshman stats.

As a freshman JL was being asked to win games w/ his arm. Look at the pass attempts.
