The General Returns. A Triumph in stanzas

The General Returns
The Tiger faithful ground their teeth,
From losing there seemed no relief,
An awful, costly lesson they had learned,
To appease a court of cretins,
Wood-eared ward had been brow beaten,
And The General who had led their men was spurned,
Sent away in foul disgrace,
To help hypocrites save face,
For the foul of playing ball like all the rest,
Shortly after his exile,
What had gone on all the while,
In the dark was in the open, sans protest,
Still with whispers some would yearn,
And hope the General would return.
Dark were Tiger days indeed,
New command not what they'd need,
Losses mounting and quite loud were those who'd lurk,
And they'd watch and moan and yammer,
As 'neath someone else's banner,
How the General who'd once led them went to work.
Oh but time and tides are strange,
Leaders fall and fortunes change,
More than whispers now would work behind the scenes,
For the deed that he had done,
Now the norm, for hired guns,
And for someone who could win the hordes would scream
For such a man the crowds would yearn,
If but the General would return,
And though current clad in red,
Fiercely though his troops he led,
Gold and purple in his veins were not diminished,
Then at last there came the call,
And once more he's standing tall,
Where it all began with business left unfinished,
For redemption, sorely earned,
But now the General has returned.

Basketball isn't even my favorite sport but this storyline is just too delicious and the jealousy of the purse clutching pundits is pure schadenfreude

Their jealousy in the storyline, is absolutely unbelievable. This whole situation is such a spectacle

the McMen would only whimper,
Choking down their cheap distemper,
Pundits clutching purses clucking queerly quailed,
For a new era was dawning,
Fallen hopes are now respawning,
Now it's good to play the bad guy, tough as nails.
So embrace this new heel turn,
For now the General has returned.

Their anger fuels our passion
Despite recent wins being rationed
The sun shines brighter today
Amidst the coastal elites awe and dismay
The field are ripe for harvest
Or maybe the orchard we should call this
Long Live tGeneral

The field are ripe for harvest
Or maybe the orchard we should call this
the grove is ripe with sorrows,
We shall harvest in the morrows,
Villain's vineyard will be watered with their tears,
And the fruit that it shall bear,
So delectable T-pear,
For we're famished for a bounty lost for years.
Now our appetite's increased,
The General's back, prepare the feast.

McMen in their beds will tremble,
'Fore the General's host assembled,
Glorious, uproarious their clatter,
And fearful gnashing of the clowns,
They couldn't keep the General down,
Their protests and their pleas, they didn't matter,
The Tiger clad in cloak of black,
Were better bad than beat, he's back.

I still can’t believe it’s real. Will Wade is back at LSU. Incredible.

I didn't think the Kiffin storyline could be topped. I was wrong

South, north, east, and west the General will sack,
one should expect that he will be leading the attack,
those who doubt the result will be in the back of the pack,
those who say he is a lackee will be a slackee and end up in the pokee.
The stars are aligned and ready to commence and those who disdain
will be the devastation and the consequence and receive the pain to our gain.
Stay alert, don't stay up late at night because the General is back, locked
and loaded ready to act and shellac all foes to their lows.
