You’re probably right, but these deals historically haven’t gotten done for LSU.

I'll admit was not exactly excited about the hire either. He has absolutely silenced all doubters with how he's executed the search/got the deal done with both Kiffin and Wade.

Not saying he ain't worth a plugged nickel but many have said Verge didn't want him back and doesn't get this credit.

The VAST majority of this board hated the Verge hire at the time. Not to toot my own horn, but I loved it and I thought from the start that he was the most logical choice. It doesn't matter who was wrong about that though, what matters is Verge obviously bleeds purple and gold as much as we all do, and he wants what's best for LSU, and that's the important thing.

Lot of people discounting him as a yes man...
As if its a knock to gauge the room and facilitate what the masses want. I don't know why some people think the AD should be some fully autonomous czar within the LSU system.
A great AD isn't some genius talent evaluator. They just know how to get the right people in contract with the right people to get shite done, which Verge is doing.
